Carpet fitting in Dundee

Pick a range, then a colourway.

James Mackenzie Flooring is the carpet fitting Dundee families book when they want the floor measured and stretch-fitted in the house. James supplies the carpet (twists, saxony and heathers) and fits it himself. There is no street showroom. Bespoke carpet fitting in Dundee means stairs, joins and awkward rooms are planned on site, not guessed from a sketch. Sheet vinyl is fitted too, for kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms. Laminate, LVT and carpet tiles are supply only (delivery), not fitted.

How the carpet price is worked out

The carpet is priced on the size cut from the roll: cut length times roll width. Carpet fitting is £5 per square metre, with an £80 minimum when the piece is under 16 m². Gripper is free with carpet fitting. Underlay is optional. If you add it on this site, it is sized from those carpet pieces rather than sold as a guess. Vinyl fitting on the same visit is £6.50 per square metre, with a £100 minimum. Lifting the old floor and moving furniture are priced on inspection: James quotes them when he measures. Stairs and door trimming are not on the room rate: ask James for a price.

Stairs are ordinary work here, but they are measured on the treads. A straight flight and a winder are not the same job, so the stair price waits until James has seen the house. A room wider than the roll needs a join. The seam is planned before the knife comes out, where furniture or the light will hide it. Offcuts and gripper waste are taken away.

We cover Dundee and surrounding areas up to about 40 miles away, including Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Monifieth, Carnoustie, Arbroath, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Brechin, Blairgowrie, Perth, St Andrews, Cupar, Newport-on-Tay and Tayport.

The site measure is free, and the quote is made at the house. Call 07948 604069. You can open a range and enter the room size to see the piece before you phone. No payment is taken on this site. Fitting is booked after James confirms the order.
